The South Fayette High School “Little Green Machine” is famous for its unique dance-and-play concept and powerful sound. Since the band’s creation in 1947, the Little Green Machine has been loved by local and national audiences alike. In addition to numerous performances at Pittsburgh Steelers games, the band has performed in the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade, the Walt Disney World “Magic Music Days” Parade and many other high visibility venues up and down the East Coast. In 1994, they were not only the subject of Fox Sports Profile, but also appeared on national television for ABC’s “Good Morning America”. And in 2005, they heralded the arrival of Southwest Airlines at Pittsburgh International Airport along with Pittsburgh Steelers great Jerome Bettis.

Calling All LGM Alumni As part of our celebration of the 60 Years of Tradition for the South Fayette Band, we want to assemble a comprehensive list of former members and their contact information.
We are planning a special celebration in the spring of 2007, and want to make sure we can let all of our alumni know the details. So if you are a South Fayette band member from years past – be it 60 years ago or a graduate of the class of 2006 – please get in touch with us so we can stay in touch with you! And if you know of a former band member, tell them to get in touch with us!
Simply send your name, the year you graduated, and contact information (address, phone, email, etc.), to Bill Collins (412-221-2722), or drop a note to Mike Mackey at the High School.
